Start with value, not orange

A convincing warm palette needs quiet darks and pale surfaces. Establish readable graphite text, a cream field and a mineral middle value before adding the hottest accent.

Choose one temperature break

Muted copper connects paper and fire. Burgundy cools the red family just enough to hold long text nearby. A small bright orange then has room to feel luminous.

Color contrast should support information hierarchy rather than turn every card into a focal point.

Name the palette honestly

“Volcanic” describes our visual reference, not the historic origin of a symbol. That language keeps art direction separate from cultural or geological claims.
